Remodeling projects in the home are a great way not only to add value and finesse to your house, but they are also a great way to make some much needed improvements. So when you’re considering renovations within your home, make sure to ask your contractor for suggestions. From kitchen remodels to bedrooms renovations, contractors like Campisi Construction can suggest hundreds of things that you many not have thought of that can make day-to-day life a bit easier. Here are a few things to consider.

  1. A Built-in Dish Soap Dispenser – Is your kitchen sink cluttered with soap bottles, brushes and more? Why not lessen the mess? If you’re remodeling your kitchen take a look at the sink and add a dish soap dispenser. This way it will be part of the sink itself and eliminate the clutter from the bottle.
  2. Soft-Close Hinges – Do you hate slamming cabinet doors? Here’s your remodeling solution! It’s almost impossible to slam a drawer or cabinet with soft close hinges. These nifty little screws help drawers & cabinets close with whisper. In a busy kitchen it’s the little things that can help calm the storm.
  3. Large Kitchen Cabinets & Drawers – Sometimes looking down into a well-lit drawer is much better than looking deep into a dark kitchen cabinet. When remodeling, consider replacing all your cabinets for large kitchen drawers.
  4. Lighting – This one sounds like a no brainer, but how many of us have a dark kitchen with only one light to illuminate the area? Consider adding task lighting and even mood lighting to make the space bright and inviting. Think about springing for the more expensive LED lights that can really change the look of a room.
  5. Dimmer Switches – Again, something we may not think about until we are in a situation where we need light, but we don’t need the sun. Consider dimmer switches that will help light the way and mood.
  6. Garage Keypad – Getting locked out of your house has happened to most of us at one time or another. With a garage keypad, you no longer have that worry (however, you do need to remember the code).
  7. Motion Activated Porch Light – Getting home in the middle of the night can sometimes be annoying when you’re trying to find your keys with no light. With motion activated porch lights that annoyance is gone. Not only will you be able to find your keys when you get home, but they can give your home more security and save you some money.
  8. An Automatic Drip System – Do you forget to water your plants? With a built in automatic drip system, you no longer have to worry about your plants dying because you didn’t water them. An irrigation system will put you more in control of your yards water use and make your life easier.

Do you have any of these features in your home? We’d love to know how they’re working for you!
